In Valderice, halfway between the ancient village of Erice and the seaside town of Cornino (Custonaci), lies Brezza d'Estate- the Baglio. Located on a hill which overlooks the neighbouring valley, where a spectacular view of the sea can be enjoyed, this typical Sicilian farm is a testament to its rural past and has been converted, after a recent restoration (2010), into comfortable, furnished self-catering apartments for holidays.

Thanks to the restoration of the original baglio (dating back to the end of the 1800's) "Brezza d'Estate" –the baglio today conserves many of the typical features of this fortified rural structure. The building, shaped in a quadrangle and constructed out of stone walls (up to a metre thick), is built around a central courtyard onto which the doors of various rooms open out. These rooms were once upon a time stables, barns and housing for farm workers.

Located only a short distance from the more recent residence, "Brezza d'Estate" –the baglio enjoys the same quiet location on the edge of the Valderice countryside. From here it is possible to quickly and easily reach the main tourist attractions of the area (Erice, Trapani, the saltpans of Marsala, Segesta and the Zingaro Nature Reserve) as well as the bright blue sea of San Vito Lo Capo, and the less crowded and less well-known, but equally beautiful, local beaches of Lido Forgia, Cornino, Castelluzzo, Macari or Scopello.

The apartments of Brezza d'Estate- the baglio, characterised by their rustic yet functional interiors in which traditional local materials (stone, wood and limestone) predominate, are able to assure a cool dry environment and a particularly pleasant climate during stays spanning from spring, to the sunny days of summer, to autumn and beyond.

Every APARTMENT in "Brezza d'Estate"- the baglio has:

• A fully equipped kitchen: gas or electric hob with oven, fridge, freezer, crockery and cooking equipment making it possible to self-cater

• Use of outdoor space where you can sit and relax in the shade: either the communal courtyard or a veranda with pergola
• Use of the communal spaces and facilities: car park, laundry and barbeque area

The intimate, rustically elegant apartments of the baglio, ideal for romantic weekends away and couple's breaks, can be linked together to create larger apartments. Depending on specific needs they can be adapted to sleep families of differing sizes or small groups of friends, even for long stays.

Without losing its intimacy and privacy the central courtyard, where you can find tables, parasols and chairs, allows you to socialise in the shade in a shared space protected by the courtyard walls.
